I was driving on the highway and ran over some metal debris ( about the size of a 4x4 piece of wood) that I didn’t see until the last second on my lane. Immediately afterwards my screen says that all 4 tires went to 0 psi. I inspect all tires and don’t see blowout or damage, but all of them went flat. I call Tesla roadside and they tow it to a service center that won’t be able to get to it until Monday. They said that if the tires need to be replaced they will be around 500 USD per tire.

Should I file a claim with Tesla insurance in hopes that the cost can be reduced or look at options outside of Tesla?

$500 per tire? How can that be right? Tires cost like 200-300 ea

I should’ve specified. This is the 2024 model 3 performance. They have 20” wheels

      Includes install probably

You’re going to have to tow it to another tire shop to install tires that aren’t directly purchased from them. Tesla will not install tires nor rims that aren’t directly from them.

Why does tesla have to install the tires?

They don’t. I’m saying Tesla will not install tires that are not purchased directly from them. I’d personally tow it to a discount tire or tire place after finding one that carries a decent tire. I also changed my wording. I realize it didnt make sense.

a performance is more like a racehorse than a utility horse. but worth it. so do things like avoid potholes like the plague. and enjoy the drive every day.

You'll find better tires at a better price elsewhere.

As I assumed Tesla is saying the tires need to be replaced.

Has anyone swapped for Michelin pilot sports?

Too late for this instance but you can buy warranty from discount tire for like $60 ea

Look up pricing on discount tire.com, probably better off towing it there and buying tires from them
