Fiery Tesla Crash Traps And Kills Four After Electric Doors Couldn’t Open
Whenever I would park at home, my home address from the app was wrong. It would be my neighbors address.. I suggested a change on Google Maps and moved my home location closer to my garage. My change got approved. The address now reflects my actual home on the Tesla App.
I yanked it hard and it opened but didn't feel good about that.
At 45kw, car usually charges at 200mi/hr. Based on this it appears that the car is using 20% of the charge rate to heat the battery as indicated by the app. Any way I can force the battery to preheat on my commute even though I'm not navigating to a supercharger? (So I don't need to waste energy preheating the battery while parked?)
I've seen my previous car coated in a quarter inch of ice that took 3 days to melt off. I could only open one door and crawl up to the driver's seat. With the retractable handles, no chance of getting in.
Questions...
Do the handles retract when it is near/below freezing? They should not or it should be an option.
Is there an option to turn off handle retraction when powered off? For the 12V issue alone I would think this would be a nice feature. Not sure why the handles need to retract when off other than the cool factor.
If you remote start the vehicle, is there a heating element on the door handles to de-ice them?
