Anyone seen this code? Car wont charge. Sounds like some device near the front is trying to run. Can get it to charge sometimes if we power the car totally of, but this is really alarming.

I have made an appointment, but is not till next week. I asked if they could respond on the app or mobile to diagnose the code, but haven't heard anything.

FIXED EDIT: If you are getting this code, just bite the bullet and get a new mobile charger.

answer list:

Im having the same issue. I don’t know if it’s the whole mobile charger or just the detachable plug at the end of the charger. I don’t want to spend the $45 just to find out I need to spend the $200+ for a whole new charger or vice versa.

My Model 3 RWD LR ended up having a problem with one of the 16 amp connections on the PCS. It would charge at 32 amps (since 2 of the 3 connections were working) but unable to charge and gave error message at 33 amps and above. Car is at the SC now, and estimate to fix is $1800 since car has 50K miles and is outside of warranty. They don't consider the PCS a part of the battery warranty since it is not the actual battery pack or the drive train. I am negotiating. Anyone else had this situation?

Ive had this code pop up a few times and then the vehicle may not restart, the first time this happened the vehicle did indeed not restart and they replaced the rear drive unit because they said coolant leaked through the motor some how, this was replaced under warranty, this same warning has now happened again along with reduced power, so i had it towed in there again and now this is what they are saying , there quote is $1470 for a guess, this dosnt sound fair.any ideas?

answer list:

My advice; keep checking the app for sooner appointments. I had this fixed today in my 16 X, was shocked that my original appointment was over two weeks out, kept looking for reschedules and found one for today (9 days wait) and they replaced the HV cooling system in about 7 hours.

Good luck OP.

The PTC heater is also part of the battery and car's thermal management system. Just like when the chiller goes down for cooling, the PTC I assume could throw a critical error. I am still learning though.

VCSEC_a222 tire pressure monitoring system fault

answer list:

This is a common problem since the 2024.38.4+ version.

Tesla patched some VCSEC / BLE vulnerability (https://www.synacktiv.com/sites/default/files/2024-10/hexacon_0_click_rce_on_tesla_model_3_through_tpms_sensors_light.pdf) and as a side effect the sensors loose sync with the car. 2024.38.7 seems to help for some users, but this definitely is not the solution yet.

What this alert means:

This alert does NOT indicate that there is a flat tire.

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) has detected that the air pressure in one or more of your tires is at least 20% lower than the recommended cold tire pressure.

See Maintaining Tire Pressures for detailed information on where to find the recommended cold pressure (RCP) for your vehicle's tires, how to check tire pressures, and how to keep your tires properly inflated.

This alert may appear in cold weather because the air in your tires naturally contracts when it becomes cold, decreasing tire pressures.

What to do:

Add air to maintain the recommended cold tire pressure. Although drops in tire pressure are expected in colder weather, the recommended cold tire pressure should be maintained at all times.

The alert may clear as the vehicle is driven. This is because the tires will warm up and the tire pressure will increase. Even if the alert clears, the tires should still be refilled with air once they have cooled.

The alert will clear once the Tire Pressure Monitoring System detects that each of your tires is inflated to the recommended cold pressure.

  • The alert and Tire Pressure indicator light may still be present immediately after you have filled your tires to the recommended cold pressure, but both should clear once you have driven a short distance.
  • You may need to drive over 15 mph (25 km/h) for at least 10 minutes for the Tire Pressure Monitoring System to measure and report your updated tire pressures.

If you repeatedly see this alert for the same tire, have the tire inspected for a slow leak. You can visit a local tire shop or schedule service using your Tesla Mobile App.

For more information on tire pressure and inflation, see Tire Care and Maintenance.

What this alert means:

An abnormally large and sustained power drawhas made your vehicle’s electrical system unable to support all features and functions.

While this alert is present, your vehicle is unable to drive and will not restart.

Air vent positioning may be limited or unavailable. Many features and functions on the right side of your vehicle may be unavailable, or their performance may be affected. These include:

  • Powered doors
  • Powered windows
  • Front seat (movement and heating)
  • Rear seat heaters
  • Side mirror movement

What to do:

It is recommended that you schedule service at your earliest opportunity. Without service, your vehicle will remain unable todrive, and the electrical system will remain unable to support all features and functions.

Some or all of the powered doors and windows in your vehicle may lose electrical power. If this occurs, you can still use the manual door releases to exit the vehicle if necessary. For more information, see Opening Doors from the Interior.
