How often do you have to replace tires?
I’m a brand new MYLR owner and am starting to become addicted to the acceleration. My real question is - how much this habit will shorten the life of my tires? Should I feel guilty about gunning it? lol

I got 35k out of the stock tires. Did not baby it.

How many times did you rotate the tires?
Every time the difference went above 1/32nd. For me it was 3 times.
Got 36,000 miles on my M3 without tire rotation (19” OE Conti’s).
This is about where I’m at for my 20”s as well
I'm at 24k and thinking I will need to replace in 3-4 months. I'm not even mad, love the acceleration.

Now imagine you had a MYP. I drive mine in chill almost all the time…whenever I switch to sport it’s just nuts. I forget how insane it is.
Yeah I own a MYP only use chill mode for the most part. Maybe sport mode in back country roads with turns it’s truly capable of a track car
Exactly the same for me. 1 year. ~24k. 6/32 left.
Wouldn’t feel guilty. Half the fun is giving it the beans. They definitely can wear out tires rather fast. Just keep them rotated and aligned. I would get about 20k miles out of the rears. I have an MYP so slightly different with staggered setup. 2 sets of rears to every one front replacements. I got tired of not being able to rotate front to back so squared up with 10.5’s all the way around. Looking forward to seeing how many miles I can get out of a new set of tires. Enjoy the acceleration but keep an eye on wear.
What tires are you running? My MYP came with the hankook ion ex suv all season and I’m looking them so far.

Thanks! These actually have a 50k warranty whereas ZERO on the Michelin Pilot A/S. I’d have the factory staggered Michelins swapped side to side but it just made me feel better thinking I was being responsible. Don’t really think it made any difference. Now that they’re squared up and able to be properly rotated I expect better life. Bonus if they are prorated when needing replacement. Had a local performance shop adjust the alignment to minimize front & rear camber. Still tilty wheeled in the rear, just not as extreme. Was really happy with their adjustments and will have to see what effect it has on inside wear.

No rubbing. Crazy tight to the upper but no issues. Read a ton of posts from the Tesla Owners Club before I made the decision to do it. I’m at about 1000 miles on the setup. Will use the front 9.5 for winter set up.
I got 40k out of my first set of tires. Tire shop couldn’t believe it. Said they had never seen a Tesla get that many miles on a set.
MYP….rears replaced at 18k (for $1200)…..at 35k now and fronts are still good and second set of rears are decent because I laid off of the hard launches…..
Do you rotate at every 3.5k?
Going to replace them in two months, almost hit 30k miles

It will shorten them a lot. But if you're having fun and enjoying and understand that you'll have drastically shorter tire life... go for it.
Me? Even chill is more than fast enough for me 98% of the time. So I stay on chill. My tires will last longer than yours... but they are a consumable either way and will need to be replaced regardless.
When do you rotate tires I’m at 7k miles I keep getting a warning about my tread
Tesla recommends every 6,250miles or something close to that last time I looked. I try to do it between 6-7k since it’s free at Discount Tires. 20in induction and just shy of 30k miles on OEM tires with 5/32 left.
2020 MYLR, 32k on OEM Continental and 50k on Michelin Pilot Sport.
We’re at 32k and will need to replace I would assume by 35k or in a few months.

It’s looking like we’ll get about 40,000 miles for the stock Continental’s on the wife’s 23 MYLR. Planning to replace them this November/December.
37k on OEM pilot sport 4S and 52k on Pilot Port AS4s.
41k and probably won’t change until winter. Tread still acceptable

I have almost 80,000km on my tires from 2021. Getting low but still acceptable.
I got 26,000 miles out of mine on a 2022 MYLR on 20"s. The guy at Discount Tire told me that it's mostly the torque that leads to deterioration so I'm slowing down my "green light, GO!" driving!!
2020 MYLR. Just replaced stock Continentals at 38k. Went with the Hankook Evo As SUVs this time around.
I have the 19" rims. I got 24k out of the stock Continentals. Replaced them with the same OEM tires, got 24k out of the replacements. I'm now trying the Hankook Ion Evo A/S tires to see if they'll last longer then 24k...
I got 41,000 out of my myp tires, (Michelin pilot sports)
It will shorten tire life for sure. So just budget for $1300 sooner than later.
I got 30k off the ones my baby came with. You’re going to replace them more frequently than a basic car so enjoy it! Gun it, the car likes it too!

Just replaced at 38k 21 MYLR never babied! Still had enough tread but going on trip soon.
I replaced my 20” set of tires at 21k miles. Wife driving 100 miles both way so I just replaced them just for her safety and peace of mind as well. Original tires is GoodYear new tires is Michelin Pilot Sport somehow I feel the GoodYear set has better grips when driving curvy roads.
Depends mostly on how YOU drive, and the tires you have on the vehicle.
I think most of the vehicles come with summer tires, and they won't last as long as all-season!
I had to replace the tires on my MYLR at 22k. Replaced with Hankook iON EVO AS SUV tires. I now have 8k on those and the wear is MUCH better. Rotated once, and there’s barely any signs of wear.
Just replaced mine after 39k miles. Back tires were at 4/32 and fronts were at 6/32. Rotated every ~8k, but the sidewalls had some chucks/tears that didn’t make me feel comfortable with the weight and speed of the car. Found a set of Pirelli tires for 1/3 the cost on tirerack.com, had them shipped to Discount Tire (DT owns TR) for free and they installed them. Seamless transaction and got a rebate gift card.

40k on my Pirelli P Zero AS Plus ELECT’s and about 10k miles left on them I’d guess.
Some people tear through tires in 5k miles. Others go 40k.

My stock tires are gonna last me about 15k🤞🏻 I do push it into corners tho bc it’s fun! They are also the 21” uberturbines with all season pilot sports
I have a MYLR and had to replace the front tire due to a nail. Discount Tire informed me that the rear tires are nearly worn out. The car has 17,000 miles on it.
as of 7/1/2024, 47,295 stock original goodyears, Seattle Area. 5/32. I 50 mph the cloverleafs entrances, i don't jerk my wheel, I'm Takumi in InitialD, I don't dare spill the water. I'm a good boy prius-like driver in the arterials.
I'm getting the same goodyear tires once it hits the wear indicators. some cross-trackers have been know to shave the treads off.
Was at 42k could have gone longer if I had noticed the alignment was out. But got to belts on the inside with a couple 32nds on the outside. Woops. Wanted to change to 18s and cc2s anyway so it all worked out.
After 2M revolutions.
