The OEM projection lights (2097851-00-A) come as a pair for the driver and passenger side. The lights work in all four doors however the rear door wiring harness on the 2024 Model 3 is is so short that you have to swap the L and R (just fyi for anyone who wanted all four to match!

I just bought them. Was it easy to install?

    1. WilliePhistergash

I just installed mine. Incredibly easy.

Super easy, but like OP said if you’re also doing the rear the wire is short and not enough slack to pull it out. It’s doable though. Took me less than 10 mins.

Hey I can't fit my new ones in like they are to big. You didn't have this problem?

  2. matttopotamus

Putting mine in later today! They are shockingly much brighter and crisper than I was expecting.

    Edit: got them put in.

      Looks nice.

What are the mats that you are using?

      1. matttopotamus

        Tuxmats. They are amazing.

Thanks. Will look for them. Did you get them off amazon?

I like that fact that it covers the part of the door sill as well

          2. matttopotamus

From their website. They are on the expensive side, but are better than any mats I’ve owned. https://www.tuxmat.com/

          3. Curi0usReddit0r

Can you put the exact link to the ones you got? I am looking through their website but I don’t see the ones that cover the door sill like the one in your picture.

Edit: never mind, it’s the same mat. Their pictures were a bit misleading

          4. matttopotamus

Yeah. The pictures do not look like they cover as much as they actually do. The name “tuxmat” makes sense once you get them. The back mats tuck into the side and bottom of the seats for full coverage. The back mats go around the side and up the front of the back seats

Thank you for rear L R tip.

I think it is designed only for the front doors then no? 😁 The back doors dont deserve this maximum luxury

    1. matttopotamus

Ive owned a few vehicles with puddle lights and it’s typically just the front.

  8. angloswiss

Still waiting for them to be released in Europe :-(

    1. GurElectronic1469

Me to. I found on Amazon Spain, but it’s not the same.

Has anyone gotten the ones from Yeslak? https://www.yeslak.com/products/tesla-projector-puddle-lights-for-model-3-model-3-highland-model-y-model-s-x?variant=44348819865827

  10. Entire-World-6651

Just purchased for my 21 M3P Just to confirm, these are compatible on all model 3s, not just the 24 variants?

    1. my10ro_NO_F1

I know they fit in the 2023 Model 3.

      1. Entire-World-6651

Okay then it shouldn’t be an issue

        1. my10ro_NO_F1

It was actually easier to fit them in the 2023, the rear wiring harness is like 1cm longer

I purchased 2 pairs for a 2022 Model 3, and they fit perfectly. No swapping needed - left is left, right is right.

The factory harness clips can be a PITA though. Made of super flimsy/thin plastic.

I noticed once the lights are pulled, the window rolls up. On the front doors, a message will pop up saying the emergency manual door release was used.

As for the actual brightness of the TESLA lighting, I don't feel it is sufficient to show a puddle before stepping out of the vehicle but neither were the stock lights either. I think the interior map/dome lights are doing most of the work.

    1. my10ro_NO_F1

That’s interesting I have seen multiple people mention the door manual release. When I installed on the 2024 and the 2023 neither car displayed that message. Both were on some version of 2024.32. For the 2023 Model 3 I still had to swap the left right in the rear but the harness had noticeably more slack than the 2024, so maybe I could have proceeded with not swapping. As for brightness, maybe there is some variation in model years, the 2024 and the 2023 are significantly brighter than the stock lights. Before I swapped to TESLA lights I had already swapped the stock lights for the alternative puddle lights with the tesla T. The T logo lights were still brighter than the stock but they had a blueish tint. The TESLA lights are by far brighter than the aftermarket T’s. If ppl want i’ll do a side by side comparison in both 23 and 24 model 3’s with all three puddle light options.

My 2022 factory puddle lights are barely visible. The interior lights are brighter and project more onto the ground. The Tesla projection is obviously sharp and visible but I can’t use that to reliably see if I am stepping into a puddle or a hole etc. I have heard aftermarket projection lights are brighter though.
