How to Reset Tire Air Pressure Sensor?
Hit a pothole that destroyed my tire in my MYP. Got it replaced ($630!), and the tire sensor still shows 0 PSI. The other pressure sensors are working and updating, just not for the new tire. Also the tire pressure warning is still on.
I've tried:
looking for the recommended option at Controls > Settings > Tire pressure sensors, but it appears that the menu has changed, no settings button on Controls anymore.
Reset the tire service mileage
Driven several miles, reaching over 50 mph
Reset the SW by holding the brake and pushing both scroll buttons
Has anyone had this issue before and if so how did you solve it? Thanks for your help!
Too bad Midas didn't check the sensor. It probably got damaged in the impact and will have to be replaced. They are about 90 USD at Tesla and they have to take the tire apart again to replace it.
Ugh, I'm starting to fear that you're right. If it doesn't resolve in the next day or two I'll contact tesla.
This. /endthread
try using search function at the top to look for TPMS.
it should really be there. like under service...i think
Thanks, tried it and reset the tire service was the only option, which didn't work.
Maybe try rebooting the car? I hope it works
Change wheel size, and change back.
Thanks! Just tried it, didn't work. 🫤
Wonder if you damaged the sensor in the process? I bought rims with new sensors and when I replaced the wheels, they just worked without any setup.
I hope not but it's looking like you might be right - nothing else seems to be working.
If you figure this out, please respond with the solution. I'm in the same boat after just a tire replacement (just a nail, wheel was fine)
Same problem - tried adding air three times and the psi is not changing. Taking the car in and hoping it’s the free fix you mention.
$630?? Is that cheaper at non-Tesla service center?
This was at a Midas car center. Apparently the MYP 21' tires are pretty rare. The labor was less than $100. Not sure how it compares to having tesla do it.
Go into service mode and see if there is a fix or should be there
Thanks! Gave this a shot but there wasn't an option for the tire sensors. I've contacted tesla service and they'll fix it under warrantee. I'll send an update on what they find.
Hi - did you figure this out?
Update: took it to Tesla service and they replaced the tire sensor under warrantee (even though they didn't see any physical damage). Works fine now. 👍
Thanks. Just booked my appt!

Drive the car
Drove it, and the other sensors are updating normally.
