Has anyone tried to replace the cabin air filter by yourself?
Its been about a year since I got it and I'm also wondering if I should change it? My other gas car requires a change every year so I was under the assumption it's the same. Also wouldn't hepa filters get clogged easier since it takes away more particles?
The cabin air filter isn’t a HEPA filter and yes, it’s easy to change. Not as easy as most cars, but definitely doable. You should change it out at least every year.
This big HEPA filter in the frunk area is supposed to be changed out every 3-4 yrs, IIRC.
Got it thanks
Here's the DIY instructions from Tesla. The cabin filters are different from the big HEPA filter in the frunk: https://service.tesla.com/docs/Public/diy/modely/en_us/GUID-A3E744BD-D5AC-4BB5-90F2-29313C2416C3.html
Tesla recommends every 2 years for cabin filters and every 3 years for the HEPA. (Unless in China then it's once a year for both due to their polluted air.)

Super easy but that vinegar smell always comes back. 😠
I think it could be dirty evaporater coils. That was the problem for my old gas car.
I’ve done the kool it treatments. Would the coils be something different?
Hmm then I'm not really sure
Yeah, it's a slight pain but doable.
I just did mine last weekend. Was easier than I expected based on the YouTube videos. I was dreading putting the panels back on, but that turned out to be pretty easy.
Yeah I'm just always scared something will break.
