Model 3 Puddle lights
Ordered these Tesla Logo puddle lights form Tesla China, and used a mail forwarding Company to ship it to Canada It’s very bright and high quality 😍 super easy installation took me like 5 mins Hope they would start selling these in Canada soon
If these are official Tesla they're probably fine, but the puddle lights are connected to the door sensor. If the light burns out the door sensor won't work which means your windows won't stay lowered when you open the door. I found out mine went bad when I went to close my door and slammed the window into the frame. Thankfully its a cheap part to replace.
These are Tesla OEM. They only offer it in China tho currently.
Not the case with the highland models. The puddle is no longer connected to the window.

I can share my own experience for using package forwarding in china https://jfchinese.com I picked this company because the is one of the company contracted with Taobao(Chinese amazon) How ever they only have Chinese website so it might be a bit difficult to nevigate When you started an account on their website. They will give you the address and the recipient name( it is importantly as this is the number to identify who the package belongs to) Then when the package arrives, they send me an email and I was able to pay them thru taobao, good thing about taobao is they take foreign credit card or Apple Pay After they I choose the shipping method and coubtry. They give me an estimate shipping fee. I paid around $25 for 3 packages in total, so I think it’s super reasonable. I chose to ship by air and I was surprised it arrive at my place only after 5 days ( Canada post is famous for super slow) I belives there might be other shipping forwarding service that is available but I personally have not used it

How do you figure out the Chinese Domestic Delivery Fee?
Just set to $0 and they’ll follow up with you in a message to pay the difference. It ended up being like 35 yuan tho or ~$5 (USD).

Only available through Tesla China’s POS site. And they can’t ship outside of China. That’s why you have to use a transportation carrier such as Superbuy.

Oh that’s a good question and I forgot to mentioned. I borrowed my friends Chinese phone number. But you can also buy it from Tesla’s official taobao store and people were able to bypass the Tesla account thing

Is there a trick to removing the stock puddle lights in the highland model 3? I gave up trying to remove them from the door.

You need a ply tool. It’s super straight forward I didn’t even look at the instruction, just play with it and you will get it out
I'm trying right now and I can't get them off either. 2024 highland with a pry tool lol. I've done it before in my 2018 but I can't seem to get these ones off. I will end up breaking the light. Did you ever get it out?

If anyone is looking in the US I was able to get some pretty cheap on eBay. Also notes front and back on the boxes but I dont think that matters.

Unrelated question, but I know the 2024 Highland there are base footwell lights (white). Can these be changed to another aftermarket color? I'm surprised the ambient lighting doesn't let you change them.
