Just got the shipping notification for mine. Looking forward to putting them in.
Does it also create a larger pool of light around the logo?
Not really , the light is kind of direct to the logo
Ok thanks.
It does look really good.
I could upload some better pics tonight
That would be brilliant.
Cheers.
Absolutely
Hope this helps answer your question!
It certainly does.
Thanks for the extra pics.
im prbly the only one that thinks this, but as a cheapass man this is a waste of my precious battery lol
Don’t they turn on either way though… you’re just replacing the lights that are already there for these 🥴
Correct
Yup
If you worry about your battery to this level, then maybe an EV isn’t the best option for you.
I get mine today. Kinda nervous because my neighbor got his and one of the logos is upside down (manufacturing defect). He said he made a post and lots of people have the same issue.
Granted he has a model Y, and it could be an issue with that product.
Flip it around if the wires are long enough. It just clips into the hole in the bottom of the door.
He actually believes his door is the issue. Tesla cut the notches backwards. Seems like a model Y issue
With my Model 3, there are just rectangular holes in the door and clips on both sides of the puddle lights, so it doesn’t matter what way round the lights are installed, they’ll still fit.
I thought the Model Y would be the exact same for something simple like that.
There is a notch on the Y for the cutouts, so it’s a rectangle with an added notch. The notch on the passenger door is upside down. He either has to cut out a new notch or have Tesla fix his door.
It's not a door issue. The OEM puddle lights for the model Y are identical for both left and right, as opposed to mirrored. So when it's installed for drivers side, the tab faces out, and when it's installed for passenger side, the tab faces in.
The Puddle lights that Tesla is selling (I installed them and had the same issue) are mirrored, so they assume the tabs face outside on both sides. I think you can just clip off the tab on the passenger side and install it the correct way without issue. You can also just press a little harder and install it with the tabs in place, but they'll dig into the trim a little bit. It's a shame Tesla didn't know this would be an issue for people. Definitely disappointing.
He ended up making it work. Not sure exactly what direction he made it face.
Mine went in on the 3 without any problem.
Just purchased for my 21 M3P Just to confirm, these are compatible on all model 3s, not just the 24 variants?
To my knowledge you should be good
Great thanks!
Im using a pry tool to get the puddle light off but not successful. Any tips?
I used a flathead screwdriver, it takes a little bit of force
