tesla error code:PCS_a022 error issue
Recently, I noticed that my Tesla Model 3 battery was draining quickly whn parked.
With Sentry Mode off, a day of parking drained about 10% of the battery.
Thinking something was wrong, I checked the car's error code alarm and found the code PCS_a022.
This code kept occurring every 1-2 minutes while parked and I realized that it was accelerating the battery drain.
I visited the service center yesterday and asked them to diagnose the error, but they asked me to come back in a week because they need parts labor to do a full diagnosis and replace the PCS and related parts immediately if necessary.
Also, the service center sent the car back to me with an error code of unable to charge, but it actually charges, so I should be able to use it until my next visit next week.
I'm worried that this error code is indicative of a serious component replacement.
Do you have an existing service appointment? I would create one if you do not. Simply word of mouth them saying come back to the service center is likely to get lost and you’ll show up in a week and they will have no idea what you are talking about.
Create your ticket. Pick a date. The car needs a new PCS module.
I’ve been getting this as well. Four service visits later and the service center tells me they can’t fix it. They did say that an internal ticket has been opened for engineering to investigate and a future update hopefully resolves this. My car is a 2020 Model 3 SR.
I got the same car and the same issue but only after trunk opener retrofit. Did you also have that done or what triggered the error?
Yes, I also have the powered trunk upgrade - it was last summer.
Interesting, getting the same error and also had the retrofit about 6 months ago. Curious if that is the issue or not. It’s also seeming to trip up my usb port for sentry and causing it to disable.
Probably... but I don't know if Tesla will agree.FYI: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/power-trunk-retrofit-causing-car-awake.322759/
I started getting this recently, no power trunk retrofit. It charges fine next time I try. It would be nice if software automatically retried and gave me a notification. Nothing worse than going out to the car and realizing I can't get to work
