Just curious why they only show two color options ( black and silver) in Taiwan if they ship them from the factories in USA to Taiwan China? Presumably the USA will have more color options, even for the launch edition.

I've been following the supply chain situation because early 2024 I was going to order a MY in Europe (to Italy specifically), and ties somewhat ties into the Taiwan situation.

Basically if you ordered a Model Y in Europe at the time, if you chose Quicksilver or Red Cherry, it was going to be delivered from Giga Berlin because those paints were not in production in Shanghai at the time. Black MYs would either be from Shanghai or Berlin based on inventory and ships coming in, and you'd only find out when a VIN would be assigned.

Crucially, due to the delicate relationships with China, Taiwan vehicles are surprisingly supplied by Giga Berlin, despite the geographical vicinity with Shanghai. It looks to be the only country in which the new MY is launched in Black, with 5-6 months delivery time (while deliveries in China are expected to begin in March).

My guess is that now that the new MY is announced and production is gonna ramp up in Shanghai, Berlin will convert its production too but it will probably take a bit longer, and it's gonna have different colors compared to Shanghai (maybe Cherry Red will be also gone from Europe when it's announced?), hence the different colors and longer delivery time in Taiwan.

Quick questions: So right now you can only purchase the Launch Series for all trims? And I'm assuming it's more expensive?

Also after whatever amount of time passes, Tesla will remove Launch Series and then open up regular orders which will be regular price?
